In 2007, Adrenaline assembled one of the country's strongest “elite” mountain bike racing teams. With 15 cross-country racers and 5 ultra-endurance athletes, Adrenaline Race Team competes in various cross-country, 24-hour, ultra-endurance and MTB stage Races across Arizona, the rest of the U.S., and Mexico.

Team Founder, Darrin Austin, and Team Captain, Darrin Permentor, came together with one vision: build a team of close friends into the most organized and successful mountain bike team in the nation.  As Austin put it,  "The team created a huge buzz this year, and not just because we won races. We are a team of close friends and very passionate about riding, training and working together as a team." The bond within the team is widely recognized and has become the foundation for Adrenaline’s success.

As the current Arizona State Champions,  Adrenaline spent the beginning part of their 2008 season climbing the podium a total of 62 times, with 4 riders claiming individual state championships. For the rest of 2008, Adrenaline will be competing at many national cross-country and endurance events.

A New Partnership is formed. In the beginning of the 2008 Arizona State Championship Series, the team decided to pursue a new bike sponsor, and team members spent most of their spare time researching and testing everything the market had to offer. During this research they stumbled upon some unbelievable reviews about Vassago Cycles (a manufacturer based out of Bel Air, Maryland). After contacting Vassago and having a great discussion with one of their sales representatives, followed by a few phone calls and emails back and forth,  the team leaders got a really good feel for their company, customer service and product line.  For a few less-biased opinions, they interrogated many top riders that had converted to Vassago from the biggest names in the industry, and they all gave the same response: "you gotta ride it."

At the end of April the team reviewed its sponsorship offers and decided it was time to make a decision. Based on all the convincing stories and testimonials about Vassago's revolutionary geometry and the incredible difference it has made for its riders, the team decided to go for it.  So, on April 27th, 2008, they solidified their partnership with Vasaggo and ordered a Jabberwocky to play with while waiting on the new Optimus TI's. When they received the Jabberwocky, a few team members demo'd the bike and were completely shocked at the improved performance, even after hearing all of the hype about the Vassago frame. One of Adrenaline's state champion cross-country racers shaved 3 minutes off his time on a 10-mile loop that he has been training on for  years, and the team's SS State Champion cleaned two steep climbs that he had never been able to do in the past.

After seeing all that Vassago frames can do, it became perfectly clear to Adrenaline Race Team that the "old school" geometry of the big manufacturers was never right to begin with. For some reason, they continue to make slight adjustments year after year while failing to grasp the fact that their original designs are completely wrong for 29" wheels. Vassago, on the other hand, realized that drastic changes needed to be made to the traditional 29er and built a frame that clearly makes them a stand-out in the industry. Team Adrenaline is as excited about their new partnership as they are confident that the new Vassago bikes will give them a pronounced advantage over their competition. Now, backed by the new leader in the 29er industry, Adrenaline will be setting even more aggressive goals for 2009.
